Here is the EOG play set-up by the Heat. Even though Josh Richardson ended up stepping out of bounds, you can see from this play what action they were trying to accomplish and probably would have gotten the shot off (if not for that turnover). The Magic played good defense and that contributed to slight blunder of the inbounds pass. Take a look at the play and then watch/read my breakdown:

Here is the play drawn up:

Now take a look at the play with a few points and thoughts:

There are a few things to take away from this.

1. There is a lot of uncertainty on what may have happened had Richardson not fumbled the ball.

2. The Magic did a good job of switching the screen by Olynyk and Isaac did a good job of using his body and not hands to make Richardson uncomfortable.

3. Dragic and McGruber are mainly use a small distractions to open up the paint, which as pointed out in the video was executed well.

This is a pretty simple EOG play. It didn't work out quite like the Heat had hoped but they were lucky to even be in this situation. They were down 90-101 with 2:59 left, To go on a 11-1 run over the next 2:53 is a great feat and shows a lot of promise for them.

Hope this was short and sweet. A new post is coming soon! Thanks for reading!
